Using Your Mobile Phone for Work

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Certain employment positions require the continual use of a mobile phone device.  This daily use can place your mobile device at risk for damage.  For instance, manual labourers that use their mobile phones on the job site can drop their phones or place a tool on top of a mobile phone by accident.  This type of damage can surely render a mobile phone useless.

One way that workers protect their mobile phones is with mobile insurance.  It can guard against various types of damage that includes accidental or liquid damage, as well as theft, loss, extended warranty issues and fraudulent calls.  The appeal of this type of cover is how reasonably priced it is — for as little as £2.49 a month the insurance company will repair or replace your mobile phone if it experiences a covered event.  This low price makes it easy to protect your phone!

Driving With Your Mobile Phone

Mobile phones allow individuals to make calls, check emails and respond to text messages.  However, mobile phones users tend to perform these functions while operating a motor vehicle.  This act is very dangerous because the device can distract the operator, which can cause a major traffic accident.

One of the ways a mobile phone user can use a mobile device while operating a vehicle is to invest in a hands-free system.  Most cars are now compatible to allow for the use of phones while keeping both hands on the steering wheel.  These systems can transmit a conversation over the automobile’s stereo systems.  Some even have voice-activated dialling.

Another important aspect to consider when owning a mobile phone is mobile insurance.  This insurance will protect your device should you become involved in a traffic accident that damages the device.  By remitting the excess fee, the insurance company will repair or replace your mobile device if it were to become damaged.

Mobile Phone Insurance & Phone Damage

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

If you own a mobile phone then chances are at some point you are going to be at risk of damaging it.  The cold hard reality is that it does not take much to damage a phone.  Just last week one of our Management team’s 10 year old daughter dropped the mobile phone and the screen completely shattered like a spider’s web.

So it went in to be repaired.

Over 2 MILLION mobile phones are damaged every year according to extensive research by Continental Research.

The very nature of the phone being mobile means it is at higher risk of accidental damage purely because it is being carried about.  It might drop from your pocket or into the toilet (we cover liquid damage too – an estimated 1.2 phones are killed by this method alone every year according to Continental Research)

So it doesn’t take a genious to realise that

1. Your phone is constantly at risk from damage – accidentally dropping it, water/liquid damage etc

2. You should probably get it insured and protect with a good mobile phone insurance

This is exactly what we offer within our phone insurance

Phone Insurance and Travelling

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Mobile Phones are – well – mobile.  They help you stay mobile and stay connected.  The point being that in being mobile your phone is exposed to increased and changing risks as you travel.

If you are completely still then obviously your phone is at far less risk.  You could still have it stolen when you are sstill - whether you are asleep or or sitting on the train – but you are at greater risk if you are travelling or moving about with your mobile phone.  That might be on the train, plane – or abroad in another country.

Yes – we DO cover you when you are abroad, for up to 60 days a year.

If you are abroad you are potentially are higher risk becauuse you might be in another country that you dont know so are more focused on your surroundings than looking after your phone.  You might be in a country where theft is higher.  Or it might be that you are more likely to drop and smash your phone as you travel.

Either way make sure you consider this mobile phone insurance
