When you buy any item in the UK it is covered by the Consumer Goods Act part of which stipulates that manufacturers of any product are liable for any product faults within the firsts 12 month - this is the manufacturers warranty. That means that if your phone just goes wrong for no external reasons then the manufacturer is responsible for fixing it.

One thing to be aware with this is the law in less than clear on how soon they must fix it. They might take a month. That is a long time to be without your mobile phone.

So a mobile phone insurance policy such as ours with 48 hour claim handling is a major advantage over this potential delay.

Also after the first 12 months the statutory manufacturers warranty ceases. After then if anything goes wrong then you are on your own...

Unless you have a phone insurance like ours which includes Extended Warranty cover

Just another reason to get your phone insurance

Mobile phone insurance should come with Extended Warranty.

Ours does. Whether you protect yourself with us at Mobile Phone Insurance UK or with some other provider, make sure you have mobile phone insurance Extended Warranty.

What this means is that you are covered if something just goes wrong with your mobile phone. Not because you dropped it, not because it got smashed or fell into your pint - but it simply stopped working due to no external factors. Maybe the screen just stopped working. Maybe the keypad went crazy. It happens.

In this event there are a few possible outcomes. All products sold in the UK are covered by a manufacturers warranty. This means the manufacturer has the responsibility to make sure their products work - for a period of 12 months. After that you're on your own.

Even within that 12 months period, chasing down the manufacturer to get them to repair your phone or to send you a new one can be a tricky issue. For this reason phone insurance can help a lot as the experts can then sort the problem for you so you don't need to worry about it.

So if your phone if older than 12 months and we already insure you then you are covered for these things just going wrong because our insurance does include an extended warranty section. Note we cannot start to insure you if your phone is older than 6 months. However, once you are insured with us, you are then covered for these extended warranty elements - whether your phone is less than 12 months old and would then otherwise be covered by the manufacturers warranty (you would probably want to get us to sort it for you as this is a LOT easier) - or if your phone is older than 12 months and not covered by the manufacturers warranty - then you simply make you mobile phone insurance claim and we sort it for you.

This is why you need to make sure you order today for your mobile phone insurance

There's good news and there's bad news...

The bad news is that there has been an unusually high amount of fraudulent insurance claims (completely illegal and an imprisonable offense) with our iPhone insurance (a subsection of our overall mobile phone insurance)

Thats bad news for us because it obviously costs us a lot - and potentially bad news for the criminals who try it on because if found out they will face prosecution and jail sentences.

But it is also maybe bad news in a way for other legitimate customers...

Because of this higher fraud rate specifically and far more so with iPhone insurance we have had to change the iPhone insurance policy itself with regards to the loss cover.

To clarify - these loss cover changes are only for iPhones - not for other mobile phones wanting phone insurance

So now, for iPhones only, the loss cover has had to be removed.

This is not the end of the world, because the rest of the policy is a very strong policy and strong enough to stand on its own.

The point to remember with the iPhone insurance is this:

The cover we offer is first rate and at the same time is the lowest price available. If you absolutely must have loss cover then the O2 policy with loss cover is £10 a month – compared to our £4.41 for iPhone 3G phones or £5.99 for iPhone 3G-S phones – so you can see their O2 policy is far more expensive.

In addition, outside of just the iPhone, for all mobile phone insurance policies, the monthly payment policy is to be removed...

THE GOOD NEWS...

The old monthly policies will be replaced with a DISCOUNTED annual policy.

You will get 3 MONTHS FREE on a yearly policy.

Instead of paying the full 12 months, you only pay for 9 months phone insurance premium and get the remaining 3 months FREE.

More details to follow
