Mobile Phone Insurance and Travelling

February 3rd, 2010

Mobile phone insurance is necessary if you own a mobile phone which you want to keep and look after.  Thats pretty much a ‘given’.

But you need to think through the details of what, when and how you want to be covered.

Like what about when you are on holiday?

Most people take their mobile phone with them on holiday to stay in touch with back home.

The trouble is you are just as likely to have your phone lost stolen or damaged – in fact potentially *more* likely…

When you go abroad you may be at a higher risk of losing you phone while you enjoy your trip away.  You may be at a higher risk of it being stolen – maybe from your hotel or from your luggage.  And it might well be damaged – have you ever seen how the baggage handlers actually handle your suitcases?

We offer international cover – whether you are away for business or pleasure – for up to 60 days in any 12 month period.

So make sure you get yourself covered and protected with a solid mobile phone insurance

Mobile Phone Insurance and Mobile Phone Theft

January 4th, 2010

Mobile phones are prone to being stolen – it is just an unfortuante fact of life.

Mobile phone theft is rife and is on the increase.  1.3 MILLION mobile phones are stolen each and every year according to research by Continental Research. The figure may be higher - according to Halifax research this figure is over 2 MILLION.

28% of ALL robberies now involve a mobile phone – this is up from the previous statistic of only 8%.  So mobile phone theft is a reality.

For this reason obviously it is a wise move to get mobile phone insurance

Mobile phone theft is one of those things that you can and should minimise with sensible use such as not leaving it on display anywhere – whether in a bar, pub, restaurant or in your car – a thief can reach into your car if you are stopped eg at a traffic light.

So get covered with phone insurance

Mobile Phone Insurance and Extended Warranty

December 9th, 2009

Mobile phone insurance should come with Extended Warranty.

Ours does.  Whether you protect yourself with us at Mobile Phone Insurance UK or with some other provider, make sure you have mobile phone insurance Extended Warranty.

What this means is that you are covered if something just goes wrong with your mobile phone. Not because you dropped it, not because it got smashed or fell into your pint – but it simply stopped working due to no external factors. Maybe the screen just stopped working.  Maybe the keypad went crazy. It happens.

In this event there are a few possible outcomes. All products sold in the UK are covered by a manufacturers warranty.  This means the manufacturer has the responsibility to make sure their products work – for a period of 12 months.  After that you’re on your own.

Even within that 12 months period, chasing down the manufacturer to get them to repair your phone or to send you a new one can be a tricky issue. For this reason phone insurance can help a lot as the experts can then sort the problem for you so you don’t need to worry about it.

So if your phone if older than 12 months and we already insure you then you are covered for these things just going wrong because our insurance does include an extended warranty section. Note we cannot start to insure you if your phone is older than 6 months. However, once you are insured with us, you are then covered for these extended warranty elements – whether your phone is less than 12 months old and would then otherwise be covered by the manufacturers warranty (you would probably want to get us to sort it for you as this is a LOT easier) – or if your phone is older than 12 months and not covered by the manufacturers warranty – then you simply make you mobile phone insurance claim and we sort it for you.

This is why you need to make sure you order today for your mobile phone insurance

Mobile Phone Insurance & Water Damage

November 17th, 2009

Mobile phone insurance is one of those things that you suddenly consider exactly when you should have already got it…

Like when you have just dropped your phone in the washing up bowl…

Like when you dropped it down the toilet…

Like when you dropped in in a puddle

Or even when it got rained on!

An old friend of ours had her phone fried (dead) when she was cycling with her phone in her bag and it started to rain heavily.  We could not salvage the phone and it had to be thrown.

Only mobile phone insurance would have helped her get a new replacement phone without her having to pay the full price (usually a few hundred pounds) to get a new mobile phone.
