When you buy any item in the UK it is covered by the Consumer Goods Act part of which stipulates that manufacturers of any product are liable for any product faults within the firsts 12 month – this is the manufacturers warranty. That means that if your phone just goes wrong for no external reasons then the manufacturer is responsible for fixing it.
One thing to be aware with this is the law in less than clear on how soon they must fix it. They might take a month. That is a long time to be without your mobile phone.
So a mobile phone insurance policy such as ours with 48 hour claim handling is a major advantage over this potential delay.
Also after the first 12 months the statutory manufacturers warranty ceases. After then if anything goes wrong then you are on your own…
Unless you have a phone insurance like ours which includes Extended Warranty cover
Just another reason to get your phone insurance

Mobile phone insurance is necessary if you own a mobile phone which you want to keep and look after. Thats pretty much a ‘given’.
But you need to think through the details of what, when and how you want to be covered.
Like what about when you are on holiday?
Most people take their mobile phone with them on holiday to stay in touch with back home.
The trouble is you are just as likely to have your phone lost stolen or damaged – in fact potentially *more* likely…
When you go abroad you may be at a higher risk of losing you phone while you enjoy your trip away. You may be at a higher risk of it being stolen – maybe from your hotel or from your luggage. And it might well be damaged – have you ever seen how the baggage handlers actually handle your suitcases?
We offer international cover – whether you are away for business or pleasure – for up to 60 days in any 12 month period.
So make sure you get yourself covered and protected with a solid mobile phone insurance
